When I tell you the vibe here was the best I've seen in a while, I can not overstate how much fun we had. The food was amazing ( I absolutely loved the catfish and grits), and the drinks were strong, which I love. But a nice crowd started pouring in for the open mic night, and Love & Lyrics began. From the opening poetry readings by the hostess, to a live poetry Q&A, R&B, Comedy, Rap, and poetry readings by special guest poets. It's simply amazing. The vibe was one of community, friendship, a place for your truth, a place for discovery. ”

I was in town for the open mic event, and that was fun as well! I'll return to this establishment again if I'm ever in the area. Side note - As far as negative reviews for slow service - That wasn't my experience but generally speaking, I think we all can stand to a bit more patient these days. “ Read some of the negative reviews, but decided to take a chance. I have no regrets. The catfish and grits were perfect. The service wasn't the fastest, but I wouldn't call it slow either. I can see how they may struggle with a packed house, however. The live music was a surprise and a huge plus. The food didn't take a long time to prepare, it came out hot and was cooked to order. Give it a chance, we will definitely be back in the future. ”
